Freya

Freya is a 4-year-old female bulldog. What we know about Freya is she came from an abusive home where she was locked in a filthy breeding crate and kicked and beat when she came out.

The good officers at the 120 Precinct got a call and it just so happens that her owners were arrested.

But at that point Freya found herself at the Animal Care Center. The ACC was noisy, scary, and just too much for a girl who had already endured so much cruelty. She was acting out from fear and landed herself on the euthanasia list. However, we knew Freya really wanted to know kindness because she bonded with a volunteer at the ACC, with whom she was as sweet as sugar.

So we went and we got this tiny tot! Freya is a sweetheart of a dog. She just needs extra time. She will do best in a home with no children or pets.

Tammy Valentino

Tammy is a dog lover. She has more dogs living in her house than you can throw a stick at. If you DO throw a stick, you'll have a pack of dogs retrieving so fast your head will spin.

Tammy is performing an invaluable service for the Staten Island community by taking in dogs that for whatever reason have been made redundant by their owners. Tammy receives calls at all hours of the night and day to come and retrieve dogs (and cats, and lizards, and birds, etc.), and house them temporarily (or permanently).

Tammy is located on the north shore of Staten Island, a mile or so from the ferry. Come by and visit. Bring a dog home with you.
