Eevee

Meet Eevee – A Survivor with a Heart Full of Love!

Eevee is a 1-year-old pup who’s been through more than most dogs ever should  in her yet short life.. Originally from the ACC, she came in after being surrendered by the 120 precinct. She arrived with an ear of 🌽 in her throat, yes, corn!—She was immediately rushed into 🚑emergency surgery.

After her recovery, Eevee began showing signs of leash biting—A behavior rooted in anxiety and a lack of proper training. Sadly, this led to her being placed on the euthanasia list. We pulled her within minutes of being put down… all because she didn’t know how to express her energy and stress.

But Eevee got her second chance. Now thriving in Wags2RichRescue's care, Eevee is showing her true personality: she’s energetic, playful, and full of puppy spirit. She loves to play, though she sometimes nips or mouths during play—not out of aggression, but simply because she hasn’t learned the right way to engage yet.

She needs an experienced family, with children 13+ patient and willing to work with her. She’s still learning commands and proper manners, and she needs structure, consistency, and love to thrive. EeVee is very fond of learning. She knows sit, down, & roll over.

Eevee doesn’t realize she’s a bigger dog, and without training, her playfulness could unintentionally hurt someone. But she’s not mean—just misunderstood. With the right home, she will blossom into the amazing dog we all know she can be.

We’re actively working with her on training and socialization, and she’s making great progress. Now, she just needs you—someone willing to give her the forever home she deserves.

Also: If you look close, you will notice EeVee has one dark and one light brown eye. Which makes her as unique as she can be!

Tammy Valentino

Tammy is a dog lover. She has more dogs living in her house than you can throw a stick at. If you DO throw a stick, you'll have a pack of dogs retrieving so fast your head will spin.

Tammy is performing an invaluable service for the Staten Island community by taking in dogs that for whatever reason have been made redundant by their owners. Tammy receives calls at all hours of the night and day to come and retrieve dogs (and cats, and lizards, and birds, etc.), and house them temporarily (or permanently).

Tammy is located on the north shore of Staten Island, a mile or so from the ferry. Come by and visit. Bring a dog home with you.
